What to do if you hate exercising

We’ve all been told how good exercising is for our health.

It boosts your mood, strengthens your body, and releases endorphins.

And yet…some people really dislike it, like me.

They look after themselves, eat well, even meditate, but the moment they think about moving their body, something inside shuts down.

A heavy feeling. Resistance.

Almost like their body says, “No, I don’t want to.”

If that’s you, you’re not lazy.

Your body might be protecting you.

When Movement Feels Unsafe

During one of my intuitive healing sessions, now available on YouTube, I explored this very pattern: the inner resistance to exercise.

As I tuned into the energy field, I could feel a tightness in the knees, a twist in the tummy, and a whisper:

“Don’t move. You might get hurt.”

For many, this isn’t just a random fear.

It’s a protective mechanism rooted in trauma, sometimes from this life, sometimes inherited or even carried over energetically from another time.

The body remembers.

If there was ever pain, injury, humiliation, or fear connected to movement, even generations ago, your cells hold that memory.

So when you plan to go for a run, join a class, or stretch, that memory quietly whispers, “Stop. It’s not safe.”

What the Body Knows

In this particular session, I saw a collective story emerge,

a child once hurt while playing, unable to walk or run again.

The pain, the jealousy of watching others move freely, the regret, “Why did I do that?”,  became deeply imprinted in the body.

Lifetime after lifetime, this memory shaped a belief:

“If I move, I’ll get hurt. Better stay still.”

And so the adult version of you avoids movement, not out of laziness, but loyalty to that old wound.

Your tummy tightens. Your knees lock.

You sit down, not out of choice, but as a subconscious act of protection.

Healing the Resistance

The moment you recognise that resistance isn’t a flaw but a message, everything begins to change.

The body doesn’t need to be forced; it needs to be listened to.

It wants to feel safe again.

In the healing session, we gently asked:

“Body, would you like to release this?”

Breath by breath, the energy began to soften.

Light entered the tummy, the knees, the memories.

And something beautiful happened — a sense of relief.

A soft yes from the body.

If You Struggle With Movement…

Before you push yourself harder, pause and listen.

Place your hand on your tummy.

Breathe light into it.

Ask softly:

“Is there something you’re afraid of?”

“Can I help you feel safe now?”

You might be surprised how your body responds when it feels heard.
